The Certification Process

It is important, as officers and training participants progress through the training activities, that their proficiencies (or successful understanding and reflection of skill sets) are recognized and assessed.  The DeTAL Center is working to develop criteria for these proficiencies and incorporate different learning assessments in the certification process. 

These items may include:

  • Utilization of the 6 Steps of De-Escalation identified in the current curriculum during training scenarios and activities

  • assessment and evaluationInstructor/Trainer

  • Officer assessment and evaluation of performance

  • Artificial Intelligence automated assessment based on knowledge and skill inputs
